Shane Barwood

Shane Barwood is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, who has undertaken international sub-specialty training in all aspects of shoulder reconstructive and joint replacement surgery. He has a particular focus on arthroscopic techniques for shoulder tendon (rotator cuff) and stabilisation surgery and also on modern shoulder reconstructive surgery. 

Shane has a strong interest in treating all types of sporting injuries including AFL, swimming and cycling, having previously participating in competitive swimming and ironman triathlon events. He currently also works with several AFL teams in the management of their shoulder injuries as well as many other elite athletic groups.


Richard Dallalana

Dr Richard Dallalana is a shoulder and elbow surgeon based in Melbourne. Specific focus of his practice includes management of sports injuries and shoulder arthroplasty. Richard is experienced in complex primary, revision and custom replacement and has been at the forefront of the use of computer assistance and intra-operative guidance techniques.

Richard was trained at the University of Melbourne and undertook upper limb fellowship training in the UK and Canada. He currently works with multiple professional sports clubs. He is involved in advisory and prosthesis design work, clinical and biomechanical research with Melbourne University, coordinates a postgraduate fellowship training program and is the secretary of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia and director of shoulder services at Epworth Healthcare.





Greg Hoy

Greg Hoy is Melbourne born and educated and completed his medical training at Monash University. From an early age he has had an interest in Sports Medicine and was involved with Prahran Football Club and the state and National Cricket teams for many years. 

With a double degree in sports physician training as well as upper limb orthopaedic training, Greg Hoy is ideally suited to specialized upper limb sports injury management.




Richard Page

Prof Richard Page is Academic Chair of Orthopaedics at Deakin University and Barwon Health and Director of Orthopaedic Research University Hospital Geelong and St John of God Hospital. He is a specialist shoulder, upper limb and trauma surgeon and current President of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia (SESA). Prof Page is founding Director of the Barwon Centre for Orthopaedic Research and Education (B-CORE). Prior to this he served for ten years in the Royal Australian Navy with active service overseas.

He has authored and presented on over 300 referred journal articles, with book chapters on shoulder, elbow, wrist and joint replacement surgery with >$20M in NHMRC and competitive / educational grants. He has appeared on television and radio discussing shoulder and related orthopaedic topics, with a particular focus on osteoarthritis. Research interests include outcomes of shoulder replacement surgery, biomaterials and upper limb biomechanics, as well as orthopaedic trauma. Prof Page has been a collaborator on published Delphi Consensus guidelines in shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff surgery and joint replacement infections. He has extensive clinical trial experience in investigator initiated and multicentre trials, co-leading 2 two open double blinded RCTs in shoulder surgery.
